Technical Details

Based upon an assessment of your needs and requested features, you may use products from the ADEPT 2 product lines, installed in a single site for ease of use. Any requested customizations will be built in the ADEPT 2 environment and integrated into your site implementation.

Site Components:

The web applications for the ADEPT 1 product line are constructed using Delphi and Intraweb, while the ADEPT 2 product line's web pages are constructed with Microsoft's .NET and C#. Product development efforts include upgrade to .NET 2 and full sunset of all ADEPT 1 components.

Reporting:

In a standard configuration, Infinite Software staff will install the Microsoft Reporting Services site that is included with the SQL Server license. Technical staff can then deploy any SQL reports created by your team or by the Infinite team to the Reporting Services site for easy access by your users. Additionally, Infinite Software staff can analyze and implement other custom reporting options based upon your needs and requests. Ask your representative about custom reporting options!

Database:

ADEPT 2 product lines connect to Microsoft SQL databases. Currently SQL Server 2000 is used; an upgrade to 2005 may be available in the future.
Installation and configuration of the ADEPT site and databases is completed by Infinite Software staff as a part of your implementation cost.

Integrations:

It may be possible to integrate existing systems you are using with ADEPT to further streamline and automate your business processes. Please ask to see a systems integration specialist to assist you in discussing your needs and planning any needed integrations with your project team.

Automation and Process Scheduling:

When your ADEPT implementation is planned, your Infinite Software team will help you define your key processes in order to determine how much automation is necessary and desired, and will assist in creating and scheduling system processes to meet your requirements.

Server Requirements:

Server hardware and software requirements can vary based upon your desired implementation: number of databases, use of ADEPT 2 components, use of virtualization technologies, reporting choices, backups, and so on. Infinite Software can assist you by recommending a software implementation based upon your existing or desired hardware, or by recommending hardware based upon the implementation features you choose. All implementations of ADEPT require Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, IIS (generally included with the Windows license), PGP and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Your representative will assist you in speaking with an implementation specialist to provide more detailed information based on the product features you select.

Security and Auditing:

ADEPT uses role based permissions, meaning that you can control which parts of the system your users have access to based upon which user role you assign them to. ADEPT comes equipped with some stock user roles, and you will also have the option of requesting customized roles with your implementation.

ADEPT also stores the username, date and time whenever a change is made for all known critical system activities, allowing system users to easily see in the ADEPT site who did what, and when for a wide range of activities. This information is kept in the database to allow for mass reporting when needed as well - the Infinite Software team can assist in creating any reports you need to audit user and system activities carried out within the ADEPT software installation. Infinite Software recommends that this level of activity recording be maintained for any important custom features that you may request for your ADEPT system, in order to maintain a common capability for auditing with all critical features.

To assist in research and customer relationship management, ADEPT also automatically posts account notes for critical processes such as payment receipt and transaction activity. This key feature can be customized according to your needs as well.

Infinite Software can also assist in completing a risk assessment and giving recommendations regarding server and network security for your installation, this information may be helpful if your server(s) will be hosted by a 3rd party hosting provider, rather than on your own site, or at Infinite's site.
